Bought a 600mm long, open top tray from Bunnings. Planning on using this as the long strand storage. 1.2m lengths can be folded in half and kept in there. All sizes go into the one tray. Bought 4 boxes from KMart, Anko Clear Short Container with Lid. HxWxD 9.5 x 27.2 x 19cm. These look like they will work well. They are a little large and I'm worried that they are fragile. But they fit in the shelving well, are stackable Bought some smaller anko boxes from KMart for the smaller heat shrink sizes. A 1l 10.2x20x10.2cm crystal clear box is a pretty good size. ### SMD Component Boxes [Wentai Modular Click Together Boxes](https://www.lcsc.com/products/Component-box_12524.html?brand=436) [Aitek Component Cases](https://www.aidetek.com) available as kits for resistors, capacitors and inductors Small component boxes === These are good for collections of components or nuts and bolts. Can be used for workshop collections, onsite collections or job or project specific collections of parts. **Current Job Boxes** Rectangular White Boxes We have been using Multistaka Crates as job boxes. So every job gets one of these boxes and therefore it is easy to keep everything together, move from bench to shelf, etc. I've been buying them from Bunnings when they are available. Looks like the are also available online from [Verdex / Stormax](https://www.verdex.com.au/multistaka-crates). 13L and 22L are the most commonly useful for us. They are good because they - Are stackable - Straight edges - White for easy visibility - not too big, not too small **For job specific.** Fischer make milky white plastic storage boxes that are good for projects. They are cheap and only moderate quality (degrading over time, brittle, warping). It is best to get the type that have permanent partitions as the partitions are particularly weak. Sold by Trade Tools. [18 Compartment Storage Container](https://www.tradetools.com/fischer-accessory-box-18-compartment-1h-094?pid=1H-094&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=free+listings&gclid=CjwKCAiA6seQBhAfEiwAvPqu19Yh7MnXKYeagdq91h-KiOIebVNICaStGd7UOvV6NdtHtyT11D2D_BoCTuMQAvD_BwE). Best if the stickers can be removed when the box is purchased, they are distracting and serve no purpose after sale. **For Taking to Site** [Milwalkee Packout](https://www.milwaukeetool.com/Products/Storage-Solutions/PACKOUT/PACKOUT-Organizers/48-22-8431) systems look to be high quality. Clear lids, thick plastics, they appear well made. They clip together which is likely to be handy onsite, not so good for in the workshop. They tend to be focuses on trades with larger items than what we typically use. **For Workshop** [Festool Systainer](https://www.festool.com/accessory/204853---sys3-org-m-87-22xesb#Overview) is also a high quality storage box. Lots of compartments, easy to move around, clear lid. I worry that they might be a bit brittle, would need to test to know. Very expensive though (this tray is ok but a set of shelves for them is $1200 for 3 draws). You can get additional box sets for the Festool Systainer boxes from [Just Tools](https://www.justtools.com.au/festool-insert-boxes-for-systainer3-organiser-50x50x68-10-pack-204858/) [Renegade Steel Boxes](https://www.tradetools.com/renegade-industrial-tradecase-small-16-parts-trays-ritc1) # Storage Shelves Bought a [TC-800](https://www.machineryhouse.com.au/t767) Industrial Tooling Cabinet from Hare & Forbes. This will be used for storing the electrical consumables (Terminals, Crimps, etc) Also bought 2 x Stormax shelves (from where) [BAC Systems](https://www.bacsystems.com.au) sell high quality shelving systems. We haven't used any yet as they are quite expensive. Might look at it in future if a more custom set of shelving would be useful. They also sell small boxes that are useful for the other storage units.
